Description Historic Montana building (circa 1914) with full restaurant facilities. Has offered breakfast/lunch until caffA operation closed in June, 2013. Owner/operator was no longer capable of running the business on a daily basis due to deteriorating health. Quote from a national travel service website ... ''Saturday mornings at the Prairie Winds Cafe are THE BEST! Along with a nice selection decently priced breakfast standards served at communal tables, Saturday morning has the added attraction of live blue-grass music! Arrive early and enjoy your breakfast along with the music! What a great start to the weekend it is.'' And another review ... I drove from Billings over to Molt in the quest for a late weekend breakfast and maybe some music. The Prairie Winds cafe is about the best thing happening in Molt, and well worth the trip. Although I arrived after the 10:30 a.m. cutoff for breakfast, my lunch was great. A turkey, pastrami and cheese croissant with side of fruit and the BEST sweet potato fries I have had anywhere. I like mine crispy and these were perfect. The bluegrass music by a six-person Laurel band was pretty darned good and a nice complement to the bright cafe, which is located in a former general store. There are a few antiques for sale along with t-shirts and costume jewelery. This place is a gem and has lots of personality. I will take my visitors from out of town there. Oh yes, and they have homemade pies. I took a piece of buttermilk walnut to go and ate it as soon as I got home even though I was still stuffed from lunch!
