Reason for Sale Illness
Description We are thinking of selling a recruitment agency due to my wife being diagnosed with an illness which unfortunately will prove difficult in the future at the moment she is fine. We have considered too putting in a manager instead.
It is based in a historic town in Suffolk and provides office and production staff. We are an hour from the coast for weekend escapes and an hour and a half drive from London.
It's leasehold and the rental is Aœ800 a quarter for a city centre location with services and security the two room office with toilets and wash basin facility is fully equipped, tastefully decorated (3 computers, printers, photocopier, fax, scanner, two phone lines and a fax line, aol connection, website, 3 filing cabinets but the office filing system is mostly electronic on computer as all CV's are mostly by email) and furnished to a good standard and my wife has just got it profitable. It's temp contracts cover the overheads and one staff member can actually run it and is on a government training scheme at just Aœ50 a week. They go to college day release though one day a week and so need someone to stand in then though they have been trained a year now by my wife. The person does all the admin and some sales. Vacancies to fill are brought in by telesales so you must be sales orientated and you do have to visit clients to maintain relationships and increase business.
We are prepared to train the person buying in recruitment. There are no real overheads except phone, postage and stationary. The business trades in people, placing them in permanent or temporary work. There are laws which govern the business but my wife will advise you. The average fee for placing a person in work is Aœ1200 and a temp out working 37.5 hours a week earns us about Aœ90. A factoring company pays the wages for us and takes 6% of profit and is insured against losses of unpaid invoices. We are asking 30k. It may not be for you.
