Reason for Sale No longer have the time to run
Description I am selling my online student-to-students classifieds and marketplace (a Craigslist for college students) because I am just graduating from college, got a full-time job, and no longer have the time to run the business.
I originally started the website as a resume booster in order to showcase my ''entrepreneurial'' spirit so that I could land my current (and dream) job. I now no longer have the time or money to keep running the website and want it to go to someone who can turn what I started into the business I know it can be! I just started doing some light advertising on the website and it's already made close to $100. Gauging traffic to the website is hard because it just launched (a little late) AFTER this current semester had already started, therefore most students already had their textbooks, dorm furniture, housing, etc. The beginning and end of school semesters is the ''hot'' time for a company like mine -- Although there is much need for my website DURING the school year as well (there is a job board, tutoring section, etc.).
Don't be discouraged that the website has only made ~$100 so far... Like I mentioned above, it's brand new and has GREAT potential to become something huge! For reference, a website with the same audience as mine (non-competing) that's been around for a few years makes roughly $1M per year just from advertising. Add in the fact that you can potentially charge for certain listings (i.e. charge employers to post on the ''job'' board but keep selling fields such as ''textbooks'' (that students use), free! The sky is the limit.
Note: Only costs ~$200/yr to host / upkeep
Here is what you get with the sale:
EVERYTHING!
- The website and all of its contents (was professionally created by a 3rd party that's local to me... Was NOT outsourced nor was it made cheaply)
- Control of the already established social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- The hundreds and hundreds of hours I put into this
