Description Founded in 1972, Explosives Sales & Services is the largest and most experienced Jamaican construction organization exclusively devoted to drilling and blasting. The company specializes in drilling and blasting of limestone rocks for (a) construction of local roads and highways, (b) access to bauxite mines, (c) gympsum quarries, (d) marl quarries, and (e) pipelines. They are also responsible for underwater blasting and the demolition of buildings and chimneys; they also serve as a local agent for a number of American companies. As only one of two companies in Jamaica licensed to carry and sell explosives, the company also carries a line of products for sale, to include a wide array of explosives materials, and drilling equipment parts. The company's longevity, continued success, and excellent reputation are attributed to its high level of professionalism, person-centered approach, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong customer relationships. It is this reputation that has earned them the ''Goodwill'' status, a recognition that has positively impacted the value of the company.
Facilities are leased by the company and include approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of office space and acreage for the company vehicles, equipment, and parts. Revenues are generated primarily from repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals. There are three principal owners, all of whom are licensed blasters; personnel include 20 well-experienced professionals, including other licensed blasters. The future is extremely promising for the company as the government plans to continue expansion of highways and make accessible more local routes.
